1. Introduction

Welcome to AutoTrans AI Keyboard: Translate on Send ("AutoTrans", "we", "us", or "our"), developed by Sheraz Ahmad. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Android Input Method (Keyboard) application handles information when you use our services.

        Core Privacy Commitment: AutoTrans does NOT log, store, or sell your keystrokes. We do not track your personal identity. Translation requests are transmitted over secure, encrypted channels solely to return real-time translations and are discarded immediately.
      

2. Information We Process

As an Android Input Method Service, AutoTrans only processes the data strictly required to deliver translation features:

Text for Translation: When you activate Auto-Translate (pressing Enter/Send or using the manual translate button), the specific text you typed in the active input field is transmitted over HTTPS to our translation service.
Clipboard Content (Only When Requested): When you explicitly tap the "Translate Incoming" button, the keyboard reads the current copied text on your clipboard to translate it for you. We never read your clipboard automatically in the background.
Local Keyboard Settings: Your language preferences, theme choice, key height settings, and auto-translate toggles are saved locally on your device via Android SharedPreferences and are never transmitted to external servers.

3. What We Do NOT Collect

AutoTrans is designed with privacy-first principles. We do NOT collect:

Passwords, PINs, or credit card numbers. (Android OS automatically prevents third-party keyboards from capturing protected password fields).
Your name, email address, physical address, or phone number.
Your precise or approximate GPS location.
Device identifiers (IMEI, MAC address, Advertising IDs).
Any personal contact lists or microphone audio recordings.

4. How Data is Processed (AI Translation)

To provide high-quality, natural chat translations, text submitted for translation is transmitted securely over Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS) to our Cloudflare Worker proxy and processed via high-speed AI inference (Qwen 3.5 on DeepInfra).

Ephemeral Processing: Translation data is processed in-memory and returned immediately. It is not stored in databases, logs, or persistent storage.
No Model Training: Your private text is never used to train or fine-tune public AI models.

5. Permissions Used

AutoTrans requests only the minimum necessary permissions on Android:

android.permission.INTERNET: Required to send translation requests to the secure AI translation API.
android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Used to detect network connectivity so the keyboard can alert you if your device is offline.
android.permission.VIBRATE: Used solely to provide optional haptic vibration feedback while typing.

6. Children's Privacy

AutoTrans does not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13. The app is a general-purpose typing utility that does not profile or collect personal identifiers from any user.

7. Compliance & User Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Because AutoTrans does not collect, track, or retain personal data, there is no persistent personal record linked to your identity. If you ever have questions or wish to inquire about data handling, you have the right to contact us at any time.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Effective Date".
